DESIGN GUIDELINES

The Windgate Ranch Community Design Review Guidelines are unique to our community. The guidelines allow for creativity and diversity while maintaining a balance with the natural desert landscape.

DESIGN REVIEW APPLICATION PROCESS

Before starting any exterior project, a Design Review Application must be submitted along with all required attachments. (See details below for Paint Projects.)

For projects that include a pool, spa, hot tub, or other aquatic feature, a signed checklist specific to those features is additionally required.

We aim to complete the review process within 45 days or less. However, if additional details are needed, the process may take longer.
Please note: Incomplete applications will be returned, with a request for the missing information.

If your project requires a City of Scottsdale permit/approval, it must be obtained before you submit the project to the committee for review.

PAINT PROJECTS

Review the approved paint color schemes for Windgate Ranch. To maintain a visually diverse and beautiful community, the color scheme you choose must be different from those of your direct neighbors—on both sides of your home and directly across the street.

Once you've selected your color scheme, submit a completed Paint Application for approval before starting your project.

PLANTS

Select your plants from the Windgate Ranch Plant List. Approved plants are based on City of Scottsdale's Environmentally Sensitive Land Ordinance.

Paint Schemes

Paint Schemes are to be selected as is. Please do not mix and match colors on schemes. Contact the office to verify paint schemes of your neighboring houses on the left, right, and directly across from your house. At least two colors must be painted on the house from the selected pre-approved Paint schemes.

Brick Return Walls (street facing) must be painted Hickory DEC759. There are pre-approved interior brick wall colors as well as pre-approved Gate stain colors. Please note on your application if you will be painting Brick return walls, interior walls, or Gate stain.

Gates must remain natural wood color or can be stains with the pre-approved Gate Stain color.

Design Review Submittal

For paint submittal, only the paint approval request form (PDF) is required.
